Managing Price Requests

The "Price Requests" section is part of the "Sales" tab in the Magento admin panel. It provides a centralized interface for managing all customer inquiries submitted through the price request form when product prices are hidden.

Accessing Price Requests

  1. Navigate to Sales in the Magento admin panel.
  2. Select Price Requests from the menu.

Requests Grid

The requests grid displays all submitted price requests with the following columns:

  • ID: Unique identifier for each request.
  • Product: The product the customer is inquiring about.
  • Customer Name: Name of the customer who submitted the request.
  • Customer Email: Email address provided in the request.
  • Phone: Contact phone number, if provided.
  • Store View: The store view from which the request was submitted.
  • Message: The customer's message or inquiry details.
  • Status Indicators:
    • Read: Indicates whether the request has been viewed by an administrator. Automatically set when the request is opened.
    • Replied: Shows whether an administrator has responded to the customer's request.
  • Created: The date and time the request was submitted.
  • Actions: Quick actions including View and Delete.

Exporting Requests

You can export price requests data for reporting or integration with external systems:

  1. In the requests grid, select the desired requests using the checkboxes.
  2. Choose Export to CSV or Export to XML from the Actions dropdown.
  3. Click Submit to download the file.

This is useful for generating reports, importing data into CRM systems, or keeping offline records of customer inquiries.

Viewing a Request

Click on any request entry or select View from the Actions column to open the detailed request page. On this page you can:

  • View complete request details including customer contact information, the product they inquired about, and their message.
  • View file attachments uploaded by the customer (if file attachments are enabled in the configuration).
  • Track request status via the Read and Replied indicators.

Replying to Requests

On the detailed request page, you can respond directly to the customer:

  1. Enter your reply message in the response form.
  2. Click Send to dispatch the reply via email.
  3. The request will be automatically marked as Replied.

Mass Actions

The requests grid supports mass actions for efficient management:

  • Delete: Remove selected requests.
  • Mark as Read / Unread: Update the read status of multiple requests.
  • Export: Export selected requests to CSV or XML.

Best Practices

  • Respond promptly to price requests to maximize conversion rates — customers actively seeking pricing information are high-intent leads.
  • Use export functionality to regularly back up request data or feed it into your CRM/ERP system for follow-up workflows.
  • Monitor Read/Replied statuses to ensure no customer inquiries are overlooked by your sales team.
  • Enable file attachments in the configuration if your customers need to provide specifications or documents with their price requests.
